About the Opportunity
Burlington Berries is looking for 5 horticultural farm workers to join our team.
In your role as a horticultural farm worker your duties will include, but are not limited to;
- Planting
- Pruning
- Weeding
- Canopy management
- Tunnel work/maintenance
- General horticultural duties
- Picking, planting and general harvest work
The work is outdoors and will be physically demanding. Some heavy lifting is required, and many tasks involves reaching your hands above your head and/or bending over for long periods of time. This is a labour-intensive role and work can become repetitive.
Work is expected to commence in June and is of an ongoing nature.
About You
Candidates must be motivated and willing to work at a quick pace, with accuracy. Candidates must be flexible with their work hours and be able to work weekends at short notice. Successful candidates will be required to start early in the mornings on sunrise in a range of weather conditions, working an average of 38 hours per week.
No previous experience is necessary.
About the Benefits
The successful candidate will be offered permanent full-time employment on an ongoing basis for up to 4 years under the Horticulture Award. You will be paid a Level 1 hourly rate of $23.46 (subject to wage increase in July 2025). After 3 months horticulture industry experience, you will transition to a Level 2 hourly rate of $24.10.
Potential to upskill to other positions is available including supervisors, harvest truck driving, specialist tunnel worker and machinery operator.
