Machinery/Spray Operator

Burlington Berries is located at Burlington Farm in the beautiful agricultural hub of Cressy Tasmania. With a rich history in the horticulture industry, we specialise in growing a delicious range of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries for supply to Driscolls Australia.

Burlington Berries is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Machinery / Spray Operators. This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to gain hands-on experience in the horticultural industry. No prior spraying experience is necessary (machinery operation preferred), as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of horticultural machinery, including sprayers and tractors, as part of the farm’s daily operations.
• Follow the chemical application program to ensure proper spraying across the farm.
• Perform tractor driving tasks for planting, harvesting, and other farm activities.
• Conduct mowing and brush cutting to maintain farm appearance and productivity.
• Assist with general farm duties as needed to support ongoing daily operations.

About You:

• Motivated and ready to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, night shifts, and on-call work.
• Machinery operation experience preferred, although we are happy to train the right candidates!
• Reliable and able to work effectively in a team and as an individual
• Be able to carry out instructions
• Have own transport and hold a current driver’s licence

• Casual Level 3 position with an average of 30-45 hours per week, with overtime paid in line with the Horticulture Award 2020.
